The following are the non-profit organizations working in the area of Manuel Antonio & Quepos for the preservation of all natural habitats, the local wildlife and clean beaches.
Asomacao Costa Rica
The scarlet macaw went extinct for more than 40 years in the area of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica due to habitat loss and poaching. Asomacao, founded in 2014, was able to reintroduce this majestic bird and unites all organizations working with parrots and macaws in the Central Pacific of Costa Rica.
Kids Saving the Rainforest
KSTR is Manuel Antonio’s official wildlife rescue center. Its mission is to protect the diverse wildlife of Costa Rica’s Pacific Coast by rehabilitating wildlife, conducting original scientific research, training volunteers, and promoting conservation and reforestation.
Marine Conservation Costa Rica
A non-profit organization based in Quepos – Manuel Antonio, dedicated to working towards a better ocean. They offer Reef Restoration Courses, Coral Internships & Marine Educational Courses. Their goal is to restore Costa Rica’s reefs, one coral at a time.
Operation Rich Coast
Operation Rich Coast promotes and facilitates coastal clean-ups and engages communities on a national level throughout Costa Rica.
